The Pool Skate is a skateboard on water. It’s designed for the Wai Kai Lineup pool and is very user-friendly. This shape has a lot of details, starting with a blunt, skate-style, slightly rounded nose tip that helps keep the nose out of the water and prevents breakage, unlike a pointy tip, which can snap off or dip underwater when turning too hard or doing tricks.
On the deck side, Vercelli shaped a front-foot concave like a skateboard, which feels excellent when going into turns. The tail area is flat for a tail pad and added his patented Groove Rails for structural strength and easier rail grabs. These also lower the rail for better turning ability. The board features a double wing that transitions into a rounded fang tail, which is narrowed slightly at the end to help it turn on a dime.
The bottom starts with a 7” wide single concave channel that ends in front of the fins. From there, it opens up into a larger single concave between the fins and off the tail, with a hint of vee for maximum turning ability. The board is designed around a twin fin with a smaller trailer fin.
Pool sizes range from 4’8” to 5’5”, and for ocean use, Vercelli adds length and width to the shape and calls it the Ocean Skate and feels like a skateboard on water!
